Silverwing Armchair
This set of bench and armchair takes the cold, rigid side of metal and turns it into a warm, inviting seating element
This perfectly crafted ensemble is the fruit of a stimulating and enthusiastic collaboration in the bold combination of smoked perspex and mirror-polished stainless steel, creating a new kind of seating
Silverwing could only emerge technologically at the precise moment of its creation
Its inflated metal cushions and laser-cut structure could not have been the fruit of another era, despite formal correspondences with Kagan and Noguchi, not least because of Fabrice Ausset's genuine cult of organic forms and this lexicon derived from nature
This piece was born of the dual desire to be both in front of and next to one's interlocutor, and to create a new seated posture, more suited to current usage
A nonchalant, elegant posture in which the elbows are raised to create a new sense of relaxation and contentment
"Investing matter, imitating nature and converting technology into real magic."
