Chimera

Born from the imaginative distortions of late Mannerist architecture, CHIMERA draws inspiration from the theatrical façades of Roman palazzos and the grotesque, open-mouthed portals of the Garden of Bomarzo. Like those enigmatic thresholds, it exists between architecture and creature - both structure and presence. Its sculptural frame evokes a face caught in the act of opening, transforming the wall into a living surface. The exaggerated “mouth” becomes functional: a subtle console carved into the form itself, extending the object beyond reflection into use.

This hybrid nature defines the piece - mirror, shelf, light installation - merged into a single, continuous gesture. A diffused LED system integrated at the back emits a soft halo, enhancing depth and amplifying the dramatic silhouette. The reflective surface contrasts with the textured, stone-like finish, creating a dialogue between solidity and lightness. Despite its monumental appearance, the structure remains visually suspended, almost weightless.

CHIMERA is a multifunctional, architectural object, at once sculptural and utilitarian, eccentric yet precise. A presence that does not simply occupy space, but transforms it.
