Callux Dining Table

A fragment taken from the original Holocene sculptural form, manipulated to create the Callux table.

A portmanteau of Gemini twins, Castor and Pollux, from ancient Greek mythology.

This duality inspires the single pedestal of this piece that while connected, parts in two and extends through a smoked resin top into a pair of brass islands.

The pedestal, made of recycled composite material and fibreglass, is hand finished in mixed media by ACW taking inspiration from a painting by early 19th Century French artist Jean Bruno Gassies, depicting Castor and Pollux rescuing Helen.
