Sculpting the Unexpected

Driven by an insatiable desire to transform ordinary objects and familiar forms into extraordinary delights, Erika Cross delves deep into the intricate relationships between object, scale, and user. Her artistic vision seamlessly melds sculptural aesthetics with utilitarian functionality, creating a harmonious fusion of art and everyday life. At the heart of her design philosophy is a hands-on approach, where the workshop becomes both a source and a canvas for her boundless creative energy—a space that functions as a library of knowledge and a laboratory of innovation.

Erika's design journey is a testament to her relentless pursuit of pushing boundaries and exploring uncharted territories. With a foundation built on research, intuition, experience, and experimentation, she purposefully challenges the constraints of conventional design to craft innovative methods and objects that defy expectations.

Born in the vibrant state of Michigan, Erika stands as the visionary founder of Erika Cross Studio. Her academic odyssey led her through prestigious institutions, culminating in an MFA in Design Products from the Royal College of Art in 2014. Before this, Erika pursued a parallel educational path, earning a BFA in Art and Design from the University of Michigan in 2011 and a BS in Interior Design from Eastern Michigan University in 2012.
